He thanked organisations, administration and media for the positive outcome of the non-violent struggle. Perme further disclosed that the donation in the form of cash and kind extended by various individuals will be handed over to Donyi Polo Mission School for Hearing Impaired and Physically Challenged.

Meanwhile, APPSC Secretary, Ashok Kumar in a press comunique informed that APPSC chairman Dr. Ligu Tacho and member Mamang Dai have recused themselves from Commission's duties until the SIT investigation into the alleged question paper leak is over. He further informed that they will not involve themselves in APPSCC exams 2013-14 till the final result.

'The recusal issues with the assurance that there will be no legal or any other implication with negative impact on the functioning of the Commission during  the absence (recusal) of the Chairman and Member, and that the work of the Commission will go on smoothly', Kumar further added.

Apparently, the Commission took middle path to escape unceremonious exit as the insurmountable pressure has been building by both agitating aspirants as well as the state government for last one week.

Speed up green field airport project

The absence of proper air connectivity with the major cities of country has been a cause of concern for the people of Arunachal. The helicopter service currently being operated is just not enough to meet the demands of the travelers. To make the matter worse, the proposed Green Field Airport at Hollongi is caught up in bureaucratic shackle at the ministry of civil aviation. However, today Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma called on Dr. Mahesh Sharma Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (Independent Charge) at New Delhi.

The Governor appealed for expediting Greenfield airport project and other Advance Landing Ground projects in the State. This development comes after Chief Minister Nabam Tuki yesterday meets the same minister and discussed the pending sanction of the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi. CM requested the Union Minister to recommend the inclusion of the proposal in the Union Budget of 2015-16. The government of India should speed up the Green Field Airport project as it will provide much needed air connectivity to the people of state. Especially during Assam bandh calls, it becomes extremely difficult for the citizen to move out of the state. Students and those in need of medical attention outside the state are the worst sufferer in such situation.

True spirit of a peaceful protest

Dear Editor,

The 96 hours hunger strike launched by a young lady Ujum Perying which concluded peacefully at 10 AM on 12th January has made a mark in the political history of Arunachal Pradesh. It was democratic; therefore it received support from various walks of life. Had it been in undemocratic way she might have not received so much support in her endeavour. The effectiveness of peaceful way of protest has widely been understood by many people through her 96 hours long hunger strike. In fact it has sent a strong message across the state. What she is doing is not the matter but as a citizen of Arunachal State, her chosen method of protest is truly appreciable. Even the State Government and AP Public Service Commission too should appreciate her democratic protest after all we are living together in a democratic Society. Redressing of demands placed by her is at the wisdom of AP Public Service Commission and State Government and they should work out its possible ways to solve this problem at the earliest possible.

In support of her demands, four more persons dared to resort to an indefinite fast.  The gravity of the situation has further increased and what next I do not know but I wish no one should go beyond democratic purview so that very democratic fabrics of our peaceful State is not disturbed.

I as a journalist in many occasions have seen vandalism of offices, police stations, burning of buses and damaging of properties by various agitators which attracted condemnations from many sections of society.

For the first time an agitator received lots of support from various corner of life because of her democratic approach without causing inconvenience to any one rather putting herself to a great extent of pain by not taking food for 96 hours. It seems true spirit of peaceful protest in a democratic way is dawning in the State.

A neglected district

Dear Editor,

Through your esteem daily, I would like to share the reality of Dibang valley District Anini, which had been created since two decades ago but still remain undermined in terms of infrastructure development and sincerity of government employees. After more than one and half year staying outside the state, when I went back to home district, I was utterly surprised as well as frustrated towards the policy of state government. Since time immemorial people of Dibang valley Anini have faced many untold pathetic testimonies due to havoc of natural disaster & climatic condition, at the same time case of negligence by state government; we are neither competing nor comparing with other district for university, industry etc. Simply we pray that the state government kindly pay a bit of attention towards our district. Despite the fact that it is situated near international border, it remains isolated from rest of the world.

There is an epithet in Arunachal, Anini is the place of punishment for government employee, resulting in inefficient and complacent attitude of officers.  None of government staff remain in their posting place & duty, basic medical facilities are unavailable resulting in many difficulties of patients particularly pregnant women.

Middle schools and primary schools have become bastion of cattle and there is only one higher secondary school that too with inadequate staff. Luckily, it is bestowed with one JNV which is also not completed till now.

On the other hand, inflation of basic commodities is skyrocketing.  One kg of potato is sold at eighty rupees but administration seems not bothered, which isn’t a joke at all. One way of Transportation charges from Roing to Anini is more than six hundreds rupees while high risk of life is enormous with pathetic roads condition. Students who are studying in middle and primary school hailing from far off places face untold difficulties due to irregular stipends which is most vital for poor students.

The primary duty of state government is to promote basic education as well as right to education but it does not work over there.

In Delhi, we stand together for the cause of north eastern people and ask for equality in all aspect but when we come back to our own state and home district, it is rather disappointing to see all the inequality.

The pre paid system

Dear Editor,

Indeed the department of power is doing a noble job for rising revenue for the Department by restricting illegal power consumption. In doing this, it is noticed that the Govt. Quarters alone are being targeted for installation of pre-paid energy meter. My suggestion is that first attempt to install metering system should be Industries, Business Centres and big buildings /business community who are major power consumer. The Govt, quarter are occupied by law abiding employees. They are paying regular bills.

Further, there is lot of opposition regarding installations of Pre-paid Electric Metering Systems. My question to the fellow citizens is that, if you could ask electrical facilities from the Govt, why you are not willing to pay for the facilities provided to you? However, the Department should check the correctness of the installed meters. It is bit exorbitant. For example a consumer whose electrical consumption is around Rs.400/- per month as per old meter system has to recharged double of that amount but it is doubtful that it will last for a month. Hope the Department will look into the matter as 70% of Capital dwellers are struggling for Roti, Kapra or Makan and they are counted in have nots.

Hope the mission of the Department will be accomplished with outmost care to the consumers without hurting their sentiments and lowering the rate of per unit cost.

Yours,

Kipa  Tar
